2008-2009 Professional Development Requirements
AAEA & AAEA/P
- All AAEA members must participate in and record 34 hours of professional development.
- 18 Hours on the calendar during the August 26-28 beginning of the year Professional Development Days
- 12 hours on the calendar professional development on November 4th & February 16th
(Elementary only- 3 hours PD & 3 hours report card on November 4th)
- “Off the clock” hours of professional development
(Provided by administration during the contractually mandated 1st Wednesday meetings)
- 4 hours for Middle School & Secondary
- 7 hours for Elementary
Teachers are encouraged to report hours of professional development that are acquired beyond the required 34.
- All AAEA/P members (Paraprofessionals) are expected to participate in and record any hours of professional development delivered during scheduled contractual works days.
- All Paraprofessionals must participate in and record 12 additional hours of professional development scheduled for November 4th & February 16th.
